Voor de eer
In Voor de eer, Debby De Ridder tells the story of a young woman who wants to shake off Afghan traditions, particularly family honor. “It’s about a courageous woman who wants to break with her past,” De Ridder said when she won the podcast contest last year at DS Podcastfestival with a pilot episode. “It’s a story about finding hope and freedom.”
Winning the podcast contest gave De Ridder a chance to further develop Voor de eer with support from the judges Johan Terryn, Andries Beckers, Sofie Steenhaut, Pieter Schrevens, Kaja Verbeke, Liesbeth Van Impe, Bert Heyvaert, Eva Moeraert, and Shalini Van Den Langenbergh. The series is now (almost) finished.
At DS Podcastfestival, Voor de eer will of course be introduced by Debby De Ridder, but also by Lieve Blancquaert, who went to Afghanistan with Annemie Struyf in 2003 to talk to women and girls about their lives under the Taliban.
This talk is in Dutch.
