Tot aan de maan en terug

In recent years, Studio Brussel host Kenneth Berth has produced a string of podcasts that have racked up nominations - from the Prix Europa (Alors on chante) to the Oorkondes (Zo geboren). And his new project Tot aan de maan en terug is another compelling gem that has already produced gallons of tears.

In the summer of 2023, Berth embarked on an adventure with Hein Wijffels and Valerie Beaudoux. The couple has not had it easy since their son Louis-Henri was diagnosed with autism and a mental disability. Their family situation is at risk. But this adventure - Hein is cycling 1250 kilometers from Milan to Genk, with Valerie and Bert following by car - will hopefully change that.

At the start, the three are strangers to each other. But with each stage, they grow closer. Hein and Valerie show a rare honesty and are willing to put their hearts on the table. At the festival, Kato Poelmans (Het Belang van Limburg) talks to the trio about their epic journey.
