Oostende met één o

Did you know there is also an Ostend(e) on the other side of the world? An Argentine coastal city founded by a Belgian absinth merchant from Mons. Someone with big dreams but no idea what he was getting into.

Podcast creator Eva Moeraert (Bruto Nationaal Geluk, De Buffalo Bitches) spent a summer and winter in Ostende. She returned not only with a treasure chest (i.e. hard drive) full of “field recordings” but also with countless stories. So, her three-part podcast Oostende met één o is more than a history lesson. It is about storytelling, chasing dreams, the lure of the sea, and the bogging down of grand plans.

Oostende met één o will have its world premiere at the festival. Eva will perform the podcast live on stage with the help of sound designer Sander Lambrecht, musician Jan D’Haene, and dramatist Griet Dobbelaere.
