Let's Talk About Books, Baby
Let’s face it: we should officially bury the idea of getting another book show on TV: “Thanks for those six unforgettable episodes. You will be missed.” But fortunately, podcasts are now just as officially filling that gap!
At the festival, De Standaard’s literary chief, Sarah Vankersschaever, assembles three book podcasters who, in as many countries, are getting people excited about Literature - with capital L! She talks to Helena de Groot, who produces The Paris Review Podcast in the U.S. for the well-known literary magazine of the same name. And to Wim Oosterlinck, who invites bookworms on his Drie boeken podcast to talk about their three favorite books. And finally, to Charlotte Remarque, who conveys which books to read in the Dutch podcast Boeken FM of De Groene Amsterdammer.
The four will discuss podcasts but also their assigned homework: I Have Some Questions for You by Rebecca Makkai - an award-winning novel about a true crime podcastmaker.
This talk is in Dutch. With the support of the Dutch Embassy.
