The Goon Squad: Music & Fashion
If you listen carefully to the lyrics of David Bowie’s Fashion, you will hear the pop icon wiping the floor with fashion (trends). With his lavish outfits, Bowie had only just helped define the fashion scene of the 1970s. But by the end of that decade, he saw how the trend-setting music scene was suddenly populated by anything but trend-setting folk - hipsters avant la lettre who wore the latest trend purely as a costume. “We are The Goon Squad and we’re coming to town. Beep-beep!”
Just to say that music and fashion have always been a thing. But also that not everyone excels at it. And so, fashion journalist Josephine Dapaah brings together a stylish panel for a one-off podcast from Brussels music club AB - on the dos and don’ts of fashion in music.
Who’s on it? Eveline Briand (stylist to Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul, among others), hip-hop phenomenon Miss Angel, and Pepijn Lanen of De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig.
