The Guests Are Here!
Earlier this month, we announced the podcasts (and podcast creators) making up the lineup of the third DS Podcastfestival. Now, we are adding a bunch of illustrious guests, including Elisabeth Lucie Baeten, Matteo Simoni, Janne Desmet, Brihang, Porcelain id, Jacotte Brokken, Rik Verheye, Faisal Chatar, Michèle Cuvelier, Miss Angel, Tom Eerebout, Lieve Blancquaert, Titus De Voogdt and Bert De Kock.
Elisabeth Lucie Baeten will be featured in a live recording of Last Goodbye, the popular podcast from De Tijdloze, in which Joris Hessels talks to people about what music they want to hear at their funeral.
In the Play podcast Achter de schermen, Pieterjan Marchand, and Jeff Bronder take a look behind the scenes of the Belgian entertainment industry. At the festival, they do so with actors Matteo Simoni and Janne Desmet.
AB is descending on DS Podcastfestival with its AB Café - a stage full of music podcasts. The Brussels music temple invests heavily in podcasts itself and will be taping a special podcast at the festival about fashion and music with Tom Eerebout (stylist of Lady Gaga, among others), hip-hop phenomenon Miss Angel, and Pepijn Lanen of De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig.
The latter also visits the festival with his podcast V4der, in which he talks to people about parenthood. In Ostend, those people will be ... Brihang!
Still in AB Café, Annelies Moons and Sofie Rycken invite a well-respected music lover to talk about concert etiquette in their podcast Ben ik de trut? Her name? Michèle Cuvelier.
In Meet the Masters, the podcast of Filmfestival Oostende, Anke Brouwers invites a devote cinephile every month to lavish praise on a filmmaker. In November, Rik Verheye will confess to being a big fan of Barry Levinson. After the talk, Levinson's war classic Good Morning, Vietnam will be screened on a big screen.
Ostend Bonsoir is partnering with Titus De Voogdt. The 1985 and Beau séjour actor joins Guinevere Claeys to express his love for the harbor city and its inhabitants.
As of recent, Kristof Bogaerts, Elke Gyselen, and Ewoud Huysmans enlist the help of a celebrity in their popular podcast Vrolijke vrekken (Nieuwsblad) in order to save money. At the festival, they call on TikTok hero and Qmusic host Bert De Kock.
For a live recording of De Podcast Psycholoog, Dutch psychologist Marissa van der Sluis sits down with Jacotte Brokken. The weather woman brings along her psychologist Lennart to talk about her brand new VRT MAX podcast Niemand vindt u leuk (about the impact of bullying).
Lieve Blanquaert wants to talk about Voor de eer at the festival, the podcast with which Debby De Ridder won last year's competition De Grote PodCasting. The series, which will premiere soon, is about a young woman from Afghanistan who wants to break away from Afghan traditions.
Meanwhile, the complete cast of the fiction podcast Night Flights (VRT MAX) has also confirmed its appearance at the festival for a live making of: Manu Van Acker, Ferre Van Den Broeck, Bill Barberis, Milton Riche, Esther Nwanu, Lien Van den Bossche, Pieter Jan De Paepe, Floris Devooght and voice legend Luk De Koninck.
Another kick-ass bunch: true crime lover Heleen Debeuckelaere (De Standaard) will conduct the trial of some high-profile genre podcasts with lawyer Joris Van Cauter, judge Céline D'havé, police investigator Sam Vanhecke, and podcast creator Max-Lena Van den Eynde.
The Radio 1 podcast Koken met Classics will close the festival with a try-out of its live show Het Grote Classic Stories Muziekjaaroverzicht. For that, they also drag on stage a promising musician who made quite an impression at this summer's music festivals: Porcelain id. The singer-songwriter will also play a mini-concert at the podcast festival for those not flocking to music festivals.
Finally, Faisal Chatar will also be featured as a guest on a brand-new podcast from De Standaard. What is it about? We're keeping that to ourselves for now!
